"Harry Potter and the Spoiler Filled Gripe List"

I have to start with the following: I think that "Half-Blood Prince" is thus far the best of the Harry Potter films. I completely loved it. Moving on. Fair warning, if you haven't seen "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" you might want to quit reading. Even if you've read the book you might want to look away as I'll be listing some things from this admittedly fantastic movie that bugged the crap out of me. You've been warned...

- When Ginny bends down to tie Harry's shoelace while they're at the Burrow everyone in the theater (which consisted mostly of people in their 20's) snickered at the proximity of her face to his... face, we'll say. Yes we're disturbed individuals but you know that if we saw it others will too and it totally took me out of the story for awhile.
- Another Harry/Ginny moment in the Room of Requirement. When they go to hide the book the line reading of "Close you eyes" freakin' killed me it was so cheesy. Their whole relationship was bungled. Harry and Ginny get to have a relationship for a brief moment in time and this movie didn't seem to show any of that, just a stolen kiss and some awkward hugging. No thanks.
- The fact that Harry was never freakin' Petrified by Dumbledore when Draco shows up at the end on the Astronomy tower. We're supposed to believe that a completely movable Harry would stand there and let Snape kill Dumbledore even realizing he's outnumbered six to one? Come now, Harry's a reckless s.o.b. and you know he'd have tried to hex the lot of them if he could've. Was it really so hard to have him Petrified?
- The wands being raised by the onlookers as Harry tends to the broken body of Dumbledore. All I could think was, is this the wizard equivalent of holding up a lighter at a rock concert? Cause that's totally what it looks like. Sure it dispelled the Dark Mark and I can appreciate that it had a practical purpose but I still giggled and thought it was kind of dumb.

Very minor gripes:
- The underground cave looked like a rejected version of Superman's Fortress of Solitude.
- No tension between Tonk and Lupin, just a quick "Sweetheart?" line for all of us shippers.
- Where were Bill and Fleur and wasn't his maiming supposed to be a big issue? Also they figure prominently into Book 7 and it seems like a real leap to go from nothing in 6 to major characters in 7.
- If I had to see Draco pull that cloth of the Vanishing cabinet with dramatic flourish one more time I was going to lose it.

"Is this dramatic enough David?"

"Harry Potter" and "Twilight": Why can't we be friends?

"Ladies and gentlemen, it's a brood-off!"

Ladies and Gentlemen, The Twi-pocalypse

My younger brother, who is tragically against all thing Cullen, said to me the other day that the success of "Twilight" signals the coming apocalypse. "The next thing you know", he opined, "they'll be having a weekly Cullen-Cast tv show." Well, look out for the lightning bolts and tidal waves little bro and alert Roland Emmerich because Reelz Channel is bringing us one step closer. Announced today:
"It has finally happened. A TV network has dedicated an entire, regularly-scheduled program to only covering Twilight-related news. Reelz Channel has announced a new weekly series called "Twilight Weekly: Spotlight" to give updates on the franchise and it will premiere August 10 at 10pm ET."

"I want my Twi-tv..."

I'm sort of on the fence about this one. Could a tv show possibly be better than the fan coverage? (We're some crazy obsessed peeps. And I mean that in a good way.) I submit that it could not. It will be nice to have another source of Twi-crack though. I'll be DVR-ing it, you?
